Brenda Ward, Ph.D., RN, a native of Jamaica West Indies,
is known and respected as an accomplished educator, executive, motivational
leader and mentor. Her high caliber of performance as a senior executive
and educator transcends 15 years. She has held senior executive
level management and teaching positions in major teaching hospitals
in the New York metropolitan area. Throughout her professional career
she blended her executive skills with her broad base of knowledge
and teaching skills and brought them to an outstanding level of
refinement that have earned her recognition as one of the leaders
in Professional and Personal Development Education and Training.
After enjoying a most challenging and rewarding multifaceted nursing
career she made a deliberate change in 1995. She founded Bren-Barr
Associates, a Professional and Personal Development, Education and
Training Consulting Service of which she is President & CEO.
Since that time she has been developing and delivering distinctive
education and training services., the outcomes of which, gratify
her class participants and astonish her clients. She has been keynote
speaker at graduation Ceremonies, and presenter at seminars and
conferences sponsored by professional organizations and corporate
business entities. She has provided in-house consultation and education
for a variety of organizations and corporations, improving Professional
Operations Effectiveness, Corporate Image, Customer Relations, and
sensitivity to Diversity. She has developed and presented Community
Education programs on WNYE, New York Radio and conducted Professional
and Personal Development Training for Corporate Executives, general
multi-level and multi-disciplinary workforces in health care, business,
and industry.
Dr. Ward is intimately involved in the development
of training programs and is an outstanding Lead Trainer. She works
cooperatively and collaboratively with organizations, groups, and
individuals to increase knowledge and skills in a manner that allows
participants to blend them effectively to leverage the richness
of diversity, technology and other resources to achieve sustainable
growth, effectiveness, and competitiveness.
Dr. Ward is currently an active member of The Professional
Woman Network National Speakers Bureau, involved in speaking and
teaching nationally, a member of The National Association for Female
Executives and various other professional organizations. She is
the recipient of a number of awards such as: The 2001 Dynamic Woman
of the Year Award from Assemblyman Nick Perry, The Outstanding Community
Service and Dedication to the Nursing Profession Award from, New
York Counties Registered Nurses Association District 13; The Outstanding
Contributions to Human Services Award from, Chi Eta Phi Sorority,
Inc. of Nassau-Suffolk County; The Outstanding Community Service
Award from both The Nassau County Legislature and The Nassau County
Executive and was a nominee for the State University of New York
Chancellor's Award for Professional Excellence. She is recognized
by and listed in Who's Who in The Directory for National Association
for Female Executives, Directory of American Nursing Leaders, and
the Directory of the Professional Woman Network National Speakers
bureau. Her expertise is well-known and admired in the academic
and service environment nationally.
Her academic credentials include, a Ph.D. in Health
and Human Services, a Post Masters Certificate in Nursing Administration,
Master of Arts in Community Health Education, Bachelor of Arts in
Health Sciences and a New York State Registered Professional Nurse
License. She is a Certified Professional and Personal Development
Educator and Trainer, a Certified Diversity Educator, and Certified
Youth Relations Trainer.
