Chyna McGarity-Namho is a fashion model, author, motivational speaker and 20-year domestic violence (DV) survivor, dedicated to helping others walk in the fullness of their potential. As the Co-Founder of PurpleCasketCampaign.com (PCC), an Atlanta-based, community-outreach program and survival resource for victims of domestic violence and intimate partner abuse, she passionately advocates for those in all stages of healing.

Like so many, her personal story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. A desire to save her marriage took her to a strange new country, with a man she loved... a man she thought she knew. Sadly, her optimism would quickly turn into horror when she realized she was the victim of a brutal, heartless stranger. Geographically isolated, emotionally broken and pushed to the brink of despair, her "moment" came when her young son witnessed his father—the man who'd promised to love, honor and cherish her—viciously assault her without restraint. Determined to raise her children in an environment free of abuse, she set about to rebuild and restore all that her abuser attempted to destroy.

Near penniless, her faith and resolve to survive brought her back to the States, where she would forge a brand new life for herself and her young children. Throughout the tumultuous journey, she would find the courage to rediscover and reclaim her self-esteem. Believing she was more than a victim and much more than the sum of physical wounds, Chyna pursued her ambition to succeed in the fashion industry. There, she would overcome the pervasive stigmas surrounding unconventional height and weight, and go on to enjoy a career as a highly sought-after fashion model. Now happily remarried, Chyna and her husband, George Namho, continue her crusade against domestic violence through PCC (www.purplecasketcampaign.com).

Chyna is also a certified consultant on Women's Issues & Diversity for The Professional Woman Network.
