Doretha (Dee Burrell) is the founder of The Dee Burrell Institute for Women, a professional and personal consulting organization dedicated to empowering women to becoming happier and healthier in our professional and personal lives. As a breast cancer survivor and an advocate to women's health, Dee hosts seminars and workshops to empower women about early detection of breast cancer... Burrell is a Certified Diversity Consultant and the author of an inspirational book entitled, "Open up the Door and Let Me In," a journal of her experiences surviving breast cancer.

Dee is an advocate for women's health and issues and conducts seminars on breast cancer awareness. She has also co-authored a new book, "Living Your Vision and Purpose." and her chapter is titled, "Starting Over… A New Beginning" edited by Linda Ellis Eastman, founder of The Professional Woman Network in Louisville, Ky. This book was released on March 28, 2010.

Dee's mission is to restore self-esteem and self-empowerment in all women by motivating us to become happier and healthier in our professional and personal lives. Her story has been featured on CBS 3; Channel 6 ABC, live radio with WHYY, and featured in the Philadelphia Tribune newspaper. Recently, Dee was interviewed for a local TV segment in Philadelphia for Stand up 2 Cancer. She has had the opportunity to be the featured author at Barnes and Noble, Borders, Waldenbooks, and book fairs.

She feels blessed and humbled and will share her trials and tribulations that she has experienced in life to help others. Her story is very heart-warming, motivating and inspiring. Ms. Burrell is recently pursued her Competent Communicator (CC) title and award with Toastmasters International and plans to start working on her third book.
