Dr. Bereal accepted Christ at age 10, and received the gift of the Holy Spirit at age 12. She was reared in a two-parent Christian home as a pastor's kid. Dr. Bereal received a calling to teach and preach God's Word at age 13. Being raised in the Church of God in Christ, Dr. Bereal has served in numerous church capacities, as well as jail ministry, hospital ministry, women's' shelters, half-way houses, and other outreach ministry. Dr. Bereal is a soloist and music/worship minister.
Dr. Bereal's academic achievements include: a B.A. in Religion and Leadership (with honors) from Vanguard University; Masters in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary; Masters in Divinity equivalency from Ashland Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Ministry from Ashland Theological Seminary. Dr. Bereal was ordained under the authority of Christian Bible Fellowship Church. Dr. Bereal is also the first African American woman to be ordained on the grounds of Fuller Theological Seminary, with formal written endorsements from renowned scholars: Dr. J. Alfred Smith and Dr. David Scholar. Dr. Bereal also received licensing as an Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ from West Angeles COGIC.
Currently, Dr. Bereal serves President/CEO of Share Wisdom, a ministry that has birthed "Seminary-to-Pew" and "Let's Talk About It"; para-church ministries that are designed to reach souls who have biblical, academic, spiritual, mental and emotional needs outside of traditional models of teaching and therapy.
Dr. Bereal presently serves as Associate Pastor at the historic Greater Page Temple COGIC in Los Angeles, California. She has also served as Associate Pastor of Beautiful Garden Church, Community Bible Church, and Emmanuel AME. She currently serves as Professor at West Angeles Bible College and as a member of the Board of Directors of the West Angeles Christian Education Department. Dr. Bereal has served as an Adjunct Professor (Old Testament) at Vanguard University and substitute Professor in the School of Professional Studies at Vanguard. She was also Teaching Assistant (Old Testament – Dr. Mignon Jacobs) at Fuller Theological Seminary, and Dr. J. Alfred Smith (African American Spirituality). Dr. Bereal has served as a Professor of Siloam Bible College.
Dr. Bereal is a certified facilitator, and trainer for the National Association of Mental Illness ("NAMI"), a nation-wide organization that offers peer-to-peer support for persons with mental illness. Dr. Bereal chairs the faith-based arm of Vet-To-Vet, a national peer-to-peer support mental health program for veterans, and a board member of the Mental Health Support Network. Dr. Bereal is a member of West Angeles COGIC.
Dr. Bereal is a qualified teacher, preacher, guest lecturer and speaker, psalmist, writer, and pastoral counselor. She is a member of the Professional Woman Network (PWN), an international coaching network, and Professional Woman Publishing, LLC, a company of notable authors and women of influence. Dr. Bereal is the author of "7 Reasons Why You Should Go To Church", co-author of "The Power of God Daily Devotional", and "Tapping Into Your Inner Beauty". She is the proud mother of one adult daughter, and two gorgeous grandchildren.
